Let's clear out these tabs, shall we?

As I've been behind in my posting (again), my tabs situation is out of control. So, in no particular order, here they all are, in all of their out-of-date glory:

  • Guys Lit Wire is hosting another book fair for the Ballou Sr High School library: they're almost halfway to their goal of bringing Ballou up to the ALA's recommended 11-books-per-student size, but recent budget cuts to the DC school system will make that even more difficult without your help. So click on through for more information.
  • Love Dido Twite? So do all of these people. (via Ellen Kushner)
  • Lots and lots of great books on this UKYA list. (And you can vote for your favorites, too!)
  • Upcoming adaptations: Wuthering Heights (relatedly, there's a new YA retelling as well), and Rebecca... the musical (I honestly don't know how to feel about this.).
  • Barf-Inducing Vampire Sex. There's an excerpt, and... yeah. It's pretty gross.
  • Director's cut of the Harry Potter books? If that means she wants to make the later books tighter and shorter, I'm in. But in my experience, director's cuts are usually longer.
  • Faith Erin Hicks has a new book coming out next May, but she's releasing it (a bit at a time) for free online. So if you're a fan—and you should be—you should definitely bookmark this page.
  • Have you been following the Moby Dick Big Read? IT IS AWESOME.
  • There's an excerpt of Gayle Forman's new book up at EW. I had a chance to grab an ARC of it this weekend, but someone else snagged it first. Grrr.
  • An interview with Libba Bray that touches on a lot of things, including YA: "I just read this great quote by Junot Diaz, he was talking about true intimacy, and he was saying that it was the willingness to be vulnerable and to be found out. That’s what I felt that YA did. It wasn't pretentious, and it wasn’t hiding its heart. It wanted to be found out..."
  • An interview with Gwenda Bond on Blackwood and writing and all sorts of good stuff: "As long as you’re working, you haven’t failed at the important part. You’re a writer. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise."

PHEW. And after all of that, my tabs are still a disaster.
