From the Guardian:

Against the Day (Vintage) by Thomas Pynchon: sentence for sentence, scene for scene, idea for idea, it gave me more pure reading pleasure than any book I've read in the past few years. I only wished it were a thousand pages longer.

Wow, I just don't think I'm ready for Best of 2007 lists yet.  I'm so not ready to make mine.

Speaking of, we went to Target yesterday but ran away when we realized that it was totally packed with crazed people doing their Christmas shopping.  I continue to be obsessed with the taller of the two penguin tumblers.  Don't ask me why.  I just love it.  I might finally break down and buy one the next time we're there.
